Engineering Council – UK regulates the engineering profession by working through a number of engineering institutions, providing the standard for assessment of individuals, for education programmes and for professional development programmes. It sets and maintains realistic and internationally recognised standards of professional competence and ethics for engineers, technologists and technicians.
TUSDEC's subsidiary, SkillTech International, is the first Engineering Council - UK approved centre in Pakistan. It also registers candidates and conducts examinations on EC - UK's behalf. Successful candidates immediately move upwards in professional qualification and gain worldwide recognition and acceptability.
SkillTech International already has a campus in Lahore and Karachi. It aims to impart skills that are at par with international standards and in turn ensure a level playing field for the local workforce. Engineering Council - UK examinations are being offered for engineering professionals in any of the following fields: |
- Electrical Engineering
- Mechnaical Engineering
- Civil Engineering
- Chemical Engineering
- Information Technology
Enginering Council - UK examinations are avaialable at three distinct and progressive levels. These have been designed to provide even a Engineering Technicaian (DAE) or a Intermediate in Science student a flexible route for meeting the academic standard to progressively become a Chartered Engineer. Similarly, a Graduate Engineer is able to become an Incorporated Engineer and progress to a Chartered Engineer. This structure (shown below) permits individuals to study at their own pace once a choice of subjects has been made and to take as few or as many papers as they wish each year. |
|
Benefits of EC-UK Examinations
- The Engineering Council route is transparent and is acceptable to many overseas professional institutions for the fulfilment of their academic requirements for registration.
- Many UK universities, upon application, accept the EC Post Graduate Diploma as entry into M.Sc programmes.
- The EC route is well recognized in its own right as providing respected British Engineering Qualifications.
- To gain academic qualifications acceptable for entry into certain UK Professional Institutions at Tech Eng, Ieng and C.Eng levels.
- Students can study at their own pace with a wide variety of subjects to choose from according to the students own expertise and intended future direction. Students can take as many or as few papers as they wish at each sitting.
- The engineering faculties of Universities are likely to cover a large proportion of the EC syllabuses and so coverage of the EC syllabuses may require only top up courses or study.
- The modular system parallels the systems used in the most universities.
- The City & Guilds name is known in over 100 countries so bringing international recognition to EC through the association.
- The EC examinations provide a route to the “International professional engineers register”.
- There is no academic penalty for failing a paper.
- Students can incorporate studies into their lifelong learning plan (continuous professional development – CPD)
- Students can progress to the highest levels of Engineer status at their own pace and as circumstances allow.

How much it will cost?
Fees are charged for registration and for entry to each subject. A separate fee is charged for the project components. Details of the fees can be obtained from SkillTech International.
