Applications of Finite Element Analysis

Introduction:
This course provides the basic theoretical and practical knowledge (without unnecessary mathematical detail) to allow an engineer to competently perform finite element analysis for structural and thermal problems (structural analysis include static analysis and modal analysis). This course will provide an opportunity to predict and evaluate structural response, natural frequencies and vibrational characteristics of components and structures. The course emphasises theory only to an extent necessary for the user to understand the implications of FEA. It is not meant to produce finite element theorists, but rather a class of responsible users.

  • Participant Profile:
    This course is designed for mechanical, industrial manufacturing, automotive, metallurgical or marine engineers/diploma holders having some experience in mechanical design.
    Instructor Profile:
    A team of experienced and highly qualified professionals in design and manufacturing will conduct this course.
    Methodology:
    The course will be delivered through lectures, multimedia presentations, videos and hands-on practice on modern CAD/CAM specific computers.
    Learning Outcome:
    Participants will be able to perform static linear stress analysis which is very much helpful in designing of mechanical components/structure/machinery etc. They will also be able to analyse products for their performance by evaluating structural/thermal response of products.
