Introduction:
This course is about using Microsoft Office as a development tool to design an information system – how to access it, analyze it and give it meaning. The ability to rapidly convert raw data to useful information leads to better decision making, which ultimately leads to better strategy in performing critical tasks to compete, survive and increase market share. This covering all the major modules: Word, Excel and Power Point. This course aims to impart a sound knowledge of the Microsoft Office desktop productivity suite applications. |

Introduction of Computer Applications
Microsoft-Office Word
(Create and share documents through the new, easy-to-use interface of Word).
Microsoft-Office Excel
(Prepare professional charts and share data with coworkers, customers, and business partners with Excel).
Microsoft-Office Power Point
(Create presentations with pictures, shapes, animation, and advanced delivery options in Power Point).
Microsoft-Office Access
(Track and report information with ease, modify pre-built applications, and share database information with Access).
Microsoft-Office Outlook
(Follow basic and advanced functions of e-mail, planning/scheduling features, and customizing the interface in Outlook).

Participant Profile:
Administrative staff, personal assistant/secretary, Matric, F.A/F.Sc, Bachelors students aiming to develop a sound base in computer applications are eligible for this program to enhance skills and use the right tool for the job. Office boys/clerks involved in conventional/manual documentation aiming to shift over to modern documentation techniques can also benefit from this course. |
Instructor Profile:
Instructor is well versed in computer applications and has got ample working experience on MS-Office tools. |
Methodology:
This course is delivered through lectures, multimedia presentations and hands-on practice on modern computers. |
Learning Outcome:
The main focus of the course will be ‘using the right tool for the job’. As each application is explored, participants will learn: Core techniques, Productivity tips and keyboard shortcuts, MS Office application best practices. Participant will be able to use windows environment and MS-Office tools in an efficient way and may be able to meet the modern era documentation and data control requirements on these office tools. |
