PESC (Peshawar Engineering Support Centre): Will upgrade local industry by providing access to contemporary machines as a Common Facility Centre and enhance Human Resources by operating as a 'teaching factory'
FIMH (Federal Institute of Materials and Homologation): Will allow 'Made in Pakistan' products compete against imports and enter the profitable export markets through product testing to ensure quality and international certification such as CE, UL, FCC etc
ESCs (Electronics Support Centres) -Lahore and Karachi: Will upgrade local industry by providing access to 'economy of scale' high-volume production/manufacturing using contemporary machines as a Common Facility Centre and enhance Human Resources by operating as a 'teaching factory'
SEAS (Senior Experts Advisory Services): Provide registered members access to hire advisory services of Pakistani experts located in and outside Pakistan
HESC (Hyderabad Engineering Support Centre): Will upgrade local industry by providing access to contemporary machines as a Common Facility Centre and enhance Human Resources by operating as a 'teaching factory'
QESC (Quetta Engineering Support Centre): Will upgrade local industry by providing access to contemporary machines as a Common Facility Centre and enhance Human Resources by operating as a 'teaching factory'
CDI (Composites Development Institute: Develop a composite material production and supply chain at 'economy of scale' levels to enable local sports, surgical and engineering industries compete internationally. The lack of composite materials availability and high costs have curtailed growth of exports
Skill Mapping: Will identify the quantity and quality of skills of workers in specified areas of the country. A quantitative analysis of skills will identify how many workers in a specific region have which skills. A qualitative analysis will the levels of existing skills
iTUP (Industrial Technology Upgradation Policy): Draw up a policy for the technological upgrade of industry for rapid development
iTUF (Industrial Technology Upgradation Fund): To facilitate small, medium and large scale industries to reduce and mitigate the cost of contemporary technologies and develop required skills. Implementation via interest contributions, skill grants and equity participations to permeate through far-reaching networks of the existing financial institutions. Act as a bridge between financial institutions and local entrepreneurs making existing lending facilities more affordable and tapping into the reserves lying with the banks
Skill Certification Institute: To test and award skilled workers and technicians with certificates from intenationally recognised institutes. Aimed at helping skilled personnel reach economic wage parity with workers from other countries
PSTRI (Pakistan Skill Training & Research Institute): Will develop a 'Training of Trainers (TOT)' and Research institute for improving the quality of Technical Education & Vocational Training (TEVT) teaching/training standards. Activities will include pedagogy certification, streamlining of TEVT policy and standards setting in collaboration with other skill development bodies, development of need-based curricula, certification & accreditation of instructors, in-service and pre-Service training, development of a Technical Teachers Management Information System (TTMIS) to keep track of resources, diploma programs leading to degrees in TEVT
