Advance Certification Course on Modern Jewellery Design

Introduction:
This course is about creating jewellery of quality in concept and realization. It is for those, whose ambition is to engage in defining the direction of contemporary jewellery. The emphasis is on the learning fundamentals of jewellery techniques and idea origination, and to discover the skill to keep the idea flowing. Students will learn to translate concepts into creative solutions by using computer aided design software (CAD). They will have the creative skills they need to begin their career as a jewellery designer.
Course coverage:
  • Learn the fundamentals and techniques of quality jewellery design
  • Learn to illustrate the shape, form, texture of metal
  • Learn how to render metals as well as faceted stones and cabochons
  • Learn to design by taking inspiration and selecting themes followed by research
  • Introduction to Computer Aided Design (CAD) software
  • Learn to transfer the 2D ideas into 3D forms by having a breakthrough of 3D technology software
  • Learn to transfer 3D models to CAM models

  • Rhinoceros NURBS Modelling 2.0, MATRIX, Jewel CAD
  • Instructor Profile:
    Ms. Beenish Saeed is a permanent lecturer at Beaconhouse National University Lahore. She is a certified CAD/CAM jewellery designer from Gemological Institute of America, London. She had conducted many jewellery design courses using CAD/CAM techniques. She will be giving training on design techniques from paper sketches to 3D computer models. Mr. Farhan has expertise in jewellery CAD/CAM system. He will be giving training on modern techniques used in computer based design and manufacturing.


    Methodology:
    The course is taught mainly through projects, which are supported by lectures, demonstrations, visuals, slide shows as well as personal research. Certificates will be awarded to successful trainees.
    Pre-requisites:
    Basic still life drawing skills Basic knowledge of design: preferably student from foundation year art & design schools Knowledge of basic computer applications, preferably design software: Photoshop, Freehand etc.
