3-D Mechanical Design at NIDA

Introduction:
Computer Aided Design (CAD) is today regarded as a cutting-edge technology for product design to help boost productivity by mastering the use of special computer programs. This course aims at introducing participants to different modelling techniques to assist in product development.

  • Participants Profile:
    This is a basic to Intermediate level course especially designed for mechanical, manufacturing and aerospace engineers as well as engineering students having little or no experience of design and modelling in a 3-D environment. Experienced engineers from other fields who wish to explore computer aided design and modelling techniques; diploma holders and technicians who are practically involved in drafting of mechanical components or products and are conversant with computers in general would find this course useful.
    Methodology:
    Lectures, Discussions, Exercises, Case-Studies and hands-on practice on modern computers will take place.
    Pre-requisites:
    Knowledge of basic computer applications, engineering design and manufacturing is required for the course.
